ANZAC DAY BBQ BREAKFAST Wednesday 25.4 2018
The weather was being good to us and Lakes Model Aero Club Inc gathered for a BBQ breakfast. The event was partially funded by AWA.
LMAC crew of volunteers had once again arranged the festivities. By 8 am there were over thirty people enjoying the fine weather and almost windless conditions. On display were a good range of warbirds.
There were many flights by all and sundry before the stop for refreshments. By now the crowd had grown to about 40 people and everyone was in good spirits with some fine flying.
The BBQ breakfast was prepared by our own band of culinary experts and Steve, Mitch, Blaise, Phil and Damien amongst others provided us with sumptuous feast.
Breakfast over and the flying resumed.
The only crash of the day was of a ME109 that spiraled into the ground with the usual consequences.
We were provided with some vouchers from Hobbytech who also provided the canopy and our thanks go to them for their generosity.
Damien Thomas took the best presented warbird flown prize of $100.
Darren took home a voucher of $50 for the demo derby and Blaze was awarded a $20 voucher for his efforts on the day.
This was a great day with everyone enjoying the spirit of the ANZACS. Thanks to AWA for their financial support and hopefully they will consider it next year.
