Registering Clubs and Affiliate members

To be affiliated with AWA a club must pay a registration fee each year. This ensures that each member club is a financial member of AWA. They are referred to as an affiliate club that has affiliated club members.

The Club Member Registration Form is prescribed and so must be used for club registration. This form can be downloaded from the forms pages (or from here [Form AWA04] / or online). Clubs cannot register their affiliate members with the AWA until the club is registered with the AWA at renewal time. The re-registration period begins in 2nd week of June. Renewal of clubs uses the same form to capture changes in office-bearers as the AGM often occurs into the new year. Changes in office-bearers need to be notified after the AGM.

Registering Affiliate Members (Club members)

The clubs collect the AWA fees along with their own club fees and may have different categories of membership. However they must use the MAAA categories when they register their members with the AWA. The AWA then registers its members with the MAAA.

Primary club membership is defined as the club through which MAAA fees are paid (usually referred to as Senior of Junior club membership at club level). MAAA associate membership is any other club a person decides to join (which is billed without duplicating the MAAA/AWA component). This is to ensure that individuals are not paying for multiple components for the same service. At club level clubs may define various categories and definitions of "associate membership" however these may be at variance with what is defined as "MAAA associate members".

The rules for AWA and MAAA membership are the same.

The Member Registration Form [AWA01] or Club members renewals [AWA02] can be downloaded from the forms area and can be used to register affiliated club members with the AWA. The prescribed form is to be used to register affiliate club members with the AWA. Online registration can be performed here.

Associate members of clubs can be added (after their primary club membership has been process) by using Form AWA02. Or online

Changing office bearers and AWA delegates

Clubs are required to notify the AWA of any changes to office bearers and AWA delegates. The Change of Office Bearers Form [Form AWA04]) is prescribed and must be used to notify AWA of any changes. There is no fee associated with changing office bearers.

MAAA cards

Members of the AWA are issued with a MAAA membership card. The MAAA card acts as proof of AWA membership, there is no AWA card. Typically the MAAA card takes up to six weeks to arrive. A club receipt can act as proof of AWA membership.
